Major not at the beach- beach hair

Messy beach hair is probably the most sought after hairstyle today, its definitely  my go to everyday hair for the most part. If you want to achieve beach hair on your own at home, you are going to need a texturizing spray. It has taken me a long time to master the perfect beach hair, I seriously have this down to a science.

The major keys to achieving messy beach hair yourself:

1. Start wrapping the hair around your iron of choice at least two inches below the roots. You don’t want this part to be curled. It only takes a few seconds to form the curl, so don’t hold it too long. Two-three second should be enough, this is suppose to be a lose curl. (if your hair is blonde your iron should not be at anymore than 350 degrees. Anything above this is frying your hair.)

2. Leave out the last one-two inches of the ends. You also don’t want this part to be curled. (Step one and two is really important)

3. Once a section is complete, spritz it with some texturizing spray. I would recommend to anyone that wants to achieve this easily to use a salty texturizing spray. The extra texture will help you achieve a messy look. Just remember that salty texturizing sprays go a long way, so only a little bit per section. I have used Aquage Sea Salt Texurizing Spray. It is my absolute all time favorite sea salt spray!

4. Let the texturizing spray dry for about one to two seconds and then finger brush the curls a couple of times. Repeat steps 1-4 for every section. I take small to medium horizontal sections from the bottom to the top, starting with the left side, and then the right side.

Hope this helps, feel free to leave any questions in the comment section. If anyone tries this, send a picture to info@kaitlynnycole.com. I’d love to see, I might even post them in a follow up post 🙂

Beautiful girl and color! Thanks so much for mentioning to not heat past 350 degrees! I’ve been telling that to my clients for years. Actually I don’t think any type of hair should be heated past 350.

Thank you!! & Yes there’s no reason to heat your irons all the way to 450, 350 will do the same exact thing! I had to mention it because obviously with my hair being the lightest blonde there is it’s super important for me to not go above that! Thanks for your input

I love messy looks like this! They’re so cute and it’s funny how sometimes it takes longer to create looks like this than a perfect blowout!

That’s so true Molly! I often think to myself it’s crazy that it requires so much just to make your hair look messy lol You’d think it would be the easiest but it can be quite difficult
